When the art meets the inspiration✨

Took my small Spoonbill sculpture back to where it all began — the Wynnum Wetlands, where I first spotted these elegant, slightly awkward birds in the wild.

It felt like a bit of magic to return, sculpture in hand and to see real Spoonbills feeding and preening right there alongside it!

Into the Fire!🔥🏺

Loading up the kiln with a fresh batch of greenware, ready for their first firing! Here's where this step fits into the making process:

✨ Shaping & Drying – Clay is sculpted and left to dry completely.
🔥 Bisque Firing – The first kiln firing transforms the raw clay into a porous, durable ceramic.
🎨 Glazing – Each piece is coated with glaze to add color, texture, and protection.
🔥 Final Firing – A second high-temperature firing melts the glaze, sealing the surface and completing the transformation!🦜

Sending good vibes to the kiln gods and as always so excited to open the kiln on the other side 🤞😍

Thought I'd show you where I draw some inspiration and one of my happy places...our garden!💚

I've found so much inspiration in the ever-changing biodiversity just outside our window. Over the last few months, we let the garden get a little overgrown, and what happened was pure magic – a sudden influx of wildlife! The garden came alive, and with it, a newfound appreciation for the beauty of letting nature take the lead🌱

Watching our feathered and fluttering visitors bring the space to life. It’s a constant reminder of how nature thrives when we give it a chance🐦🦋

Navigating Tokyo’s train system is no easy feat—information overload, I barely knew which direction to flap! But once I got up here, the view was absolutely incredible. Taking in the city from above was definitely worth the hustle. Now that I’ve found my way, I even treated myself to some vegan sushi to stick my beak into! 🍣🌱
